On 15th August 2026, Prayatn Sanstha, under the Kawachh Project, organized and supported a series of awareness activities across Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli districts of Rajasthan to mark the 80th Independence Day. The activities combined the spirit of Independence Day with important messages on child protection, prevention of child marriage, de-addiction, cyber safety, responsible use of social media and the importance of education.

In Bharatpur, awareness activities were conducted across six Gram Panchayats and Blocks through role plays, awareness sessions and a pledging activity led by school children. The role plays addressed child marriage, alcohol and substance addiction, the harmful effects of excessive social media use and the importance of education. The activities encouraged children to understand these issues and communicate positive messages to their peers and communities. A total of 666 children, including 285 boys and 381 girls, participated in the Bharatpur activities.

In Dholpur, school-level awareness activities were organized through Meena-Raju Manch under the project. At Government Higher Secondary School, Bishnoda, seven girls and at Thakur Shivnarayan Singh Government Higher Secondary School, 12 girls presented role plays on the prevention of child marriage. At Government Higher Secondary School, Angai, eight girls presented a role play on cyber safety and the harmful effects of excessive mobile phone use. A total of 27 girls actively participated. Through their performances, children highlighted the consequences of child marriage, the role of families and communities in preventing it, and the importance of safe and responsible digital behaviour. Prayatn Sanstha’s team were present to encourage the children and participating students were given gifts in recognition of their efforts.

In Karauli, the Tricolour was hoisted at Kheepkapura Gram Panchayat headquarters in the presence of the Sarpanch, Gram Vikas Adhikari and community members. The project team also participated in Independence Day activities at schools in Kheepkapura, Hindaun City Block, Palanpur under Shri Mahaveer Ji Block and Mahmadpur under Sapotra Block. During these engagements, the team shared information about Prayatn Sanstha and the Kawachh Project and interacted with students and community members on the importance of child protection and community participation.

Across Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli, the 15th of August activities provided an opportunity to celebrate Independence Day while creating awareness on issues that directly affect children’s safety, education and development. The active participation of school children through role plays, pledging activities and community engagement helped strengthen their confidence, leadership and communication skills. The activities also reinforced the importance of collective efforts by children, families, schools and communities in building a safer and more supportive environment for every child.
