On 3rd August 2026, Prayatn Sanstha, under the project Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) supported by Reliance Foundation, organized an Awareness Programme on Climate Adaptation and a Tree Plantation Drive at Kushyara Gram Panchayat in Shahabad Block of Baran district, Rajasthan. The programme aimed to raise awareness about climate change, promote climate-resilient agricultural practices, encourage water and soil conservation and emphasize the importance of tree plantation for environmental sustainability.
During the awareness session, participants were sensitized on climate change and its impact on agriculture, climate adaptation measures, sustainable farming practices, water conservation, soil health management and the importance of increasing green cover through tree plantation. The interactive discussions encouraged community members to adopt environmentally sustainable practices and contribute towards conserving natural resources.
Mr. Ramkhiladi Poswal, Deputy Director, Prayatn Sanstha, participated in the programme along with other team members of Prayatn Sanstha. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing climate challenges and encouraged the community to adopt climate-friendly practices for sustainable development and improved livelihoods.
The programme witnessed active participation from Mr. Rameshwar, Member, Gram Panchayat, representatives of local non-governmental organizations, students of Kanya Awasiya Vidyalaya and community members. A total of 77 participants attended the programme. As part of the plantation drive, 250 saplings were planted to promote a greener environment and strengthen community efforts towards environmental conservation.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to continue promoting climate adaptation, environmental conservation and sustainable agricultural practices. Through such initiatives, the organization continues to strengthen community participation in building climate-resilient villages and ensuring a healthier environment for future generations.
