On 12th June 2026, Prayatn Sanstha, in collaboration with district administrations and key stakeholders, organized district-level programs under Project Kawach in Bharatpur and Dholpur districts of Rajasthan to observe World Day Against Child Labour. The events focused on child labour prevention, child protection, legal awareness and ensuring every child’s right to education, safety and development.
In Dholpur, a district-level workshop was organized jointly by Prayatn Sanstha and the District Legal Services Authority, Dholpur, under the chairpersonship of Ms. Rekha Yadav, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority. The workshop commenced with the presence of the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional District Collector Mr. H.R. Meena. Discussions focused on child labour eradication, child marriage prevention, child trafficking, children’s rights, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and legal aid services for vulnerable children.
A key highlight of the workshop was the active participation of children from Raju Meena Manch of Nanokhar and Sahedi Gram Panchayats, who shared their perspectives on education and child rights. The Dholpur event engaged 64 participants, including representatives from the District Legal Services Authority, Child Welfare Committee, Police Department, Education Department, Labour Department, Child Helpline, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Women and Child Development Department, Panchayat representatives and children.
In Bharatpur, a district-level awareness program was organized at the Agriculture Campus Auditorium under the chairpersonship of Mr. Rajaram Bhutoli, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Bharatpur. Speakers emphasized the importance of education, protection and a safe environment for children while highlighting the harmful impact of child labour on children’s health, learning and overall development.
During the program, Mr. Deshraj, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, Mr. Pradeep Yadav from the Labour Department and Mr. Neeraj from the District Legal Services Authority, Bharatpur, shared valuable insights on child labour prevention and highlighted key legal provisions under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO Act. Children from Meena Manch and Raju Meena Manch enriched the event through poster presentations and poetry recitations promoting children’s rights and education.
The Bharatpur event engaged 74 participants, including Child Welfare and Protection Committee members, Panchayat representatives, government officials, community stakeholders and children, all reaffirming their commitment to strengthening child protection and eliminating child labour.
Across Bharatpur and Dholpur, 138 participants came together under Project Kawach to strengthen child protection systems and promote the vision of a child labour-free Rajasthan. The events reinforced the importance of collective action among government departments, legal institutions, community leaders and children to ensure every child can learn, grow and thrive in a safe and protective environment.
