A comprehensive workshop addressing child protection issues was organized at Hotel Heritage on December 29, 2023, in Dhaulpur, in a joint effort by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Prayatn Sanstha under the banner of project Moving Ahead, supported by Karl Kübel Stiftung, Germany. The one-day event brought together influential figures to discuss critical aspects of child welfare.

While chairing the event, Former CWC Chairperson, Mr. Virendra Singh, underscored the need for heightened societal awareness to prevent cybercrimes against children, addressing the potential mental stress they may endure.

Chief guests, CWC members, Mr. Majid Sharifi, Ms. Sonpal Gurjar, and Ms. Kavita Sharma, stressed the pivotal role of committee members and called for collaboration with law enforcement to combat child labor. Special guest of Honor, Mr. Rakesh Parmar, a member of the Juvenile Justice Board, emphasized the importance of community education to protect children from substance abuse. Ms. Krishna Kumari, Chief District Education Officer, urged collective efforts to integrate children into the mainstream of education, emphasizing the significance of ensuring Aadhaar cards for all.

During the workshop, Prayatn Sanstha’s Project Officer, Ms. Rajani Jain, provided insights into the organization’s goals and activities. Mr. Rakesh Tiwari, Advocacy Officer, provided valuable information on legal provisions, particularly the Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and Child Labour (prohibition and regulation) Act.

Representatives from various departments, including CWC, Police, Social Welfare, and the Labor Department, actively participated in the workshop. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of children in the district. The concerted efforts of Ms. Reena Tyagi, Mr. Durgesh, Mr. Thakur Das Kushwaha, Mr. Manoj Kumar and Mr. Laxman Singh from Prayatn Sanstha played a pivotal role in the success of the workshop.
