Kindernothilfe (KNH) Germany organized a capacity-building workshop for the partner organizations who are working for the children in the community in the Northern part of India. The primary objective of the workshop was to dust- up the understanding of all the sponsorship concepts and to enhance the facilitation skills of the Sponsorship Co- Coordinators over sponsorship instruments through the experiential sharing of the innovative approach of different partner organizations to bring all of them under a single umbrella.

Ms. Komal Wagmare, National Sponsorship Coordinator cum Project Officer of KNH, facilitated the sessions on all three consecutive days. Her expertise in the concepts of sponsorship and skillful facilitation simplified the challenges for all the participants. Her session on Child Psychology was extremely fascinating for the officers, since they spent their uttermost time interacting and engaging with children in the community.

The workshop was organized in a participatory mode, where participants worked in groups and individually. Mr. Midhun Kurian, Sponsorship Coordinator cum Documentation Officer from Prayatn Sanstha and Ms. Avino Zao, Sponsorship Officer cum APM from DAN Organization, Nagaland were also facilitated sessions during the workshop. Knowledge-sharing sessions on best practices of Sponsorship officers and the preparation of the facilitation guides also were so fascinating and edifying. During the sessions, a unique Monitoring format was also introduced for all the partners.

On the final day, Arts and Crafts workshop was organized for the participants. A team of Artists, led by Ms. Manisha furnished the participants on art forms like pencil art, leaf painting, thread art, geometrical shapes, thumb painting, still life, collage making, Sohari art, Rakhi making, jewelry making, etc. Everyone enthusiastically participated in all the art & craft sessions.

The training was held from 22nd to 24th August 2023, at Regenta Central Hotel and Convention Centre in Nagpur, Maharastra. All together 15 participants (09 Male & 06 Female) from 12 partner organizations of KNH participated in the Training. Partner organizations, who took part in the training, included – Astha, CINI, ASHA, SIDI, Vigyan Foundation, SOVA, Victory India, Ekta, Patang, DAN, and Restless Development.

Mr. Midhun Kurian, (Sponsorship Officer cum Documentation Officer) participated in the training from Prayatn organization. Presently KNH, Germany is financially supporting Prayatn Sanstha to implement Project “Sambal’ which is focused on Child Development and Child Protection in 50 villages of Cholapur Block in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
