Dholpur Railway CHILDLINE and Dholpur District CHILDLINE, run by Prayatn, grabbed the opportunity to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2021 by organizing a “Swachhta Abhiyaan”. Its main objective was to introduce CHILDLINE services and to make the community people aware of the need of maintaining cleanliness at home and surroundings.

On one side, Railway Childline team engaged itself in cleaning the railway premises with the cooperation of railway cleaners and in motivating the vendors and passengers with the support of RPF constable to dispose of garbage in the dustbins as well as to follow spitting etiquettes to curb the transmission of diseases through droplets of saliva or mucous in air.

On the other side, Dholpur District Childline engaged in cleaning the surroundings of village Chainakapura. Volunteers and children of the village were involved in the cleaning task and all the community members were made aware of different ways of maintaining personal and public hygiene as pre-requisites to curb the transmission of diseases. The elders of the village community appreciated the initiative by saying, “This sort of campaign has been organized for the first time in our village and we are happy that our children also have become part of this exposure to awareness regarding cleanliness. We are also happy to know that there is an organized team to work for the cause of children’s issues and we promise to create awareness on 1098 services to our neighboring villages.” Recreational activities were conducted for children which included singing, drawing and handwashing in addition to active discussions on the importance of cleanliness.
