Formation of Child Help Group, which is mandatory at major railway stations as per Standard Operating Procedure developed by the Ministry of Railways for protection of children in contact with railways, was successfully completed at Dhaulpur Railway Station after joint efforts of Railway Childline team of Prayatn, as well as, Station Administration. As such, the first meeting of the group was organized on September 9 at station premises under the Chairpersonship of Mr. N.N. Mishra and presence of Division Commercial Inspector- Mr R. C. Meena, GRP, Sub- Inspector- Mr Ramkishan, RPF Constable- Ms Sunita.

The Chairperson began the meeting with the introduction of the Child Hep Group. His briefing was followed by elaboration by Railway Child Help Desk Coordinator Mr. Surnam Singh about importance and functions of the Railway Child Help Desk as well as the Child Help Group. He also detailed about the support expected by the Desk from the Child Help Group. Taking prompt action on the expectations, the group made following important decisions:

  • Meeting of the Child Help Group will be held on monthly basis on 15th of every month
  • Ceremonial inauguration of the Child Help Desk will be organized to push popularize its establishment
  • IEC material to popularize Childline services will be placed in the entire railway station campus.
  • Use of women’s waiting room will be allowed for girls rescued by the Child Help Desk team in case of requirement of night stay.
