Prayatn team at Cholapur, Varanasi, effectively winded up the training of CPC members on Child Rights and Child Protection in 10 batches with the valuable support of our resource persons which includes Deputy Director of Prayatn- Mr. Ramkhiladi Poswal, Child Protection Expert- Mr. Sundar Singh, Project Officer- Mr. Sonu Gour and Assistant Project Officers- Mr. Kishore Singh and Mr. Sandeep Sonkar. Held from 3rd – 25th of October in 10 project villages under the ‘Sambal’ project backed by Kindernothilfe, Germany, the training was aimed to enhance the capacity of CPC members so that they develop an understanding of child rights and child protection as well as the role of the community-based institution in ensuring the same at village level. A total of 330 CPC members including 268 males and 62 females have been trained in this process. In the training, the participants were made aware of the issues of child rights and child protection which was followed by their cause and effect analysis and then they were facilitated to make an action plan to resolve the identified issues in their village set up. Consequently, the members are sensitized towards the issues of children and have developed an understanding to identify and resolve the same at the village level.
