Prayatn team at Cholapur Block of Varanasi District successfully organized 09 Government Community Interfaces for the community members of 16 project villages. Main objective of the interface has been to provide a platform for the community to express their queries and problems in front of the authorities at the village level and to promote solutions through the exchange of information about the schemes issued in the public interest. Spanning over a month period i.e., from 21st September till 25th October 2021, the interface included total participation of 636 members constituted by 478 males and 158 females. Major issues raised included cement concrete road, housing plan, drinking water facility, old age pension, widow pension, Anganwadi building and its services and school playground. The community members submitted proposals regarding the issues of their respective villages for which the Sarpanch and village Secretary assured resolution at the earliest and even affirmed their words in writing. The Sarpanch and Secretary also shared information about various government schemes at the panchayat level and the list of required documents to avail the same. They highly appreciated this initiative by which it becomes easier to know the problems of an individual village all at once in order to provide them the best services. The initiative was undertaken as part of a measure for convergence under the Sambal project which is being implemented by Prayatn with the financial support of Kindernothilfe, Germany.
