From 15th to 21st July 2021, Prayatn Sanstha team members reached out 05 blocks of Dholpur district to strengthen the services related to COVID under its Jan Prerna Abhiyaan. The Abhiyaan was a self-initiated campaign that was meant to prevent the spread of the virus by equipping health centres in the Dholpur district with testing equipment, PPE kit, etc., and spreading community awareness on the same.

The campaign was inaugurated by Dholpur District Magistrate – Mr. Rakesh Kumar Jaiswal in presence of CMHO – Dr. Gopal Prasad Goyal, Deputy CMHO – Dr CR Meena, and BCMHO – Mr. Virendra Bhaskar.

The District Magistrate, while waiving off the awareness-cum-material distribution vehicle, appreciated the efforts of Prayatn Sanstha and stated, “The organization is doing a good job. More civil society organizations should come forward to support government in its efforts to curb COVID 19 pandemic.”

Throughout the campaign, the team had spread awareness on COVID appropriate behaviour and distributed COVID detection and care related equipment like Thermo-scanner, Pulse-oximeter and Nebulizer, along with materials like PPE kit, sanitizers, liquid handwashes and masks to health centers and community members. In total 2 CHCs (Baseri & Surmathura), 5 PHCs (Pachgaon, Saranikheda, Bareh Moreh, Chilachaundh, Aangayee) and 50 AWCs were benefitted through the process. These centres had been selected keeping in mind the need of the centers and around 7500 people had been approached in 05 blocks to get vaccination jab done.

Towards the end of the campaign, Mr. Ramesh Ranjan (Senior Program Manager, Prayatn Sanstha) summarised “It is a period to stay alert as the third wave of COVID is about to arrive. Not only frontline workers, but also every individual must follow the COVID appropriate behaviour and get the vaccination done to fight against COVID-19”. He acknowledged financial support KKS Germany for the process and thanked all stakeholders who made the effort a success.
