Prayatn Sanstha distributed kits containing thermoscanners, pulse oximeters, sanitizers, etc. to handwashes, etc. to Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres, Sub-centres and ASHA workers and soaps, masks, etc., community members during COVID awareness campaign that was held across 50 villages Cholapur block of Varanasi. The campaign, which has been undertaken under the Sambal project being implemented by the organization through financial support of Kindernothilfe (KNH), Germany, is being held in the backdrop of COVID wave to spread awareness about the pandemic as well as gear up people and health facilities with necessary awareness and equipment so that the spread of the pandemic and loss caused because of the same is minimized.
The 10 days long campaign was flagged off by Dr. R.B.Yadav, Medical Officer In-Charge, Cholapur, who emphasized importance of spreading awareness about the pandemic in remote rural areas and thanked Prayatn for fulfilling the equipment need of for the public health centers and frontline workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramkhiladi Poswal, Deputy Director – Operations, Prayatn Sanstha told that the organization has designed an awareness vehicle loaded with mike system which will be moving across various villages to deliver messages related with COVID including proper use of mask, proper way handwashing, importance of social distancing, importance of vaccination, what to do in case symptoms appear, All stakeholders including members of Village Child Protection Committees, Women Self help Groups and Children’s Collectives, panchayati raj institutions, health workers (Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and ANMs), school teachers, SMC members, government officials as well as media are being involved in this process. The entire campaign is being organized following COVID guidelines and large gatherings are avoided. Administrative permission has been sought for the same. The campaign is expected to reach out to about 30,000 people in this process.
