As part of the Combating Malnutrition through Livelihood Development project in 30 villages of Shahabad Rajasthan, Prayatn Sanstha, in collaboration with Bread for the World, recently organized food demonstration events at Anganwadi centers in the villages of Guwadi, Goyara, and Kaloni on November 7th, 8th, and 11th, 2024.
Pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, young children, Village Development Committee members, women from self-help groups, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and helpers gathered to learn how to create nutritious recipes using locally available ingredients and supplements provided by the Anganwadi centers. Participants explored the nutritional benefits of these ingredients, discussed ways to prepare complementary foods for children over six months, and engaged in a deeper conversation on nutrition and the impacts of malnutrition.
This initiative, which reached ninety-five community members, highlights the power of local resources in building a foundation for healthier lives across Shahabad, Rajasthan and together, we are working to combat malnutrition and create sustainable, community-driven change.
