On 15th August 2026, on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Prayatn Sanstha, under the SBI Gram Seva Project with the financial support of SBI Foundation, organized celebration at Baising village, Rayagada district, Odisha, at SBI Gram Seva Kendra bringing together the spirit of patriotism, educational empowerment and community development.

The programme was graced by Smt. Padmavati Tadingi, Zilla Parishad Member, Zone-II, as the Chief Guest, along with Mr. Krishna Tadingi, Sarpanch, Baising Gram Panchayat and Miss Mariya Sirika, Sarpanch, Karubai Gram Panchayat, as distinguished guests.

In her address, Smt. Padmavati Tadingi highlighted the important role of youth in bringing positive change to society. She encouraged young to focus on education, develop leadership qualities and actively contribute to the development of their communities. She emphasized that youth have the potential to transform society through education, dedication, responsibility and collective action.

Mr. Krishna Tadingi, Sarpanch, Baising Gram Panchayat, appreciated the initiatives undertaken through the SBI Gram Seva Project, particularly the SBI OJAS Scholarship and bicycle distribution programmes. He encouraged scholarship beneficiaries to make responsible use of the financial support and utilize it primarily for their educational needs. He also urged the girl students to use the bicycles effectively for travelling to and from school, attending classes regularly and continuing their education without interruption.

As part of the celebrations, 27 meritorious students were awarded SBI OJAS Scholarships, supporting their continued education and encouraging them to pursue their academic aspirations. To further promote girls’ education and facilitate convenient travel to school, 20 bicycles were distributed to girl students, helping reduce barriers to regular school attendance.

The programme focused on education, youth empowerment, responsible utilization of support and community development, with the dignitaries emphasizing the importance of valuing these opportunities and working hard towards a brighter future. The programme witnessed the active participation of villagers and school students, with a total of 180 community members attending the celebration.

The celebration served as a meaningful reflection of the shared vision of Prayatn Sanstha and SBI Foundation under the SBI Gram Seva Project to empower rural youth, strengthen educational opportunities and support communities in building a better and more self-reliant future.
