Breastfeeding lays the foundation for a child’s healthy start in life. It supports proper growth, strengthens immunity, and protects against malnutrition during the crucial early months of development.

As part of the global observation of World Breastfeeding Week from 1st to 7th July 2025, Prayatn Sanstha, in collaboration with SBI Foundation under the Sanjeevani initiative, organized awareness meetings in Godpurwa and Pure Adhari villages of Shravasti district, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 60 women participated in the sessions, which brought together local Mothers’ Groups for open and meaningful discussions.

The focus was on encouraging exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of an infant’s life, starting within the first hour of birth. The importance of not giving water or any other supplements during this period was strongly emphasized. Mothers were also sensitized on newborn care and the importance of maternal nutrition in supporting healthy breastfeeding.

The participation and response from the women were very encouraging. Their questions, reflections, and readiness to adopt healthier practices reaffirmed the value of such efforts.

Prayatn Sanstha remains committed to building awareness on maternal and child health at the grassroots level, and we thank SBI Foundation for their continued support in this journey.
