A Capacity Building Workshop on the Sponsorship Management has been organized by Kindernothilfe (KNH), Germany for the partners, who are implementing the sponsorship projects in the Northern part of India. The primary objective of the Workshop was to brush up the understanding of sponsorship program, which includes quality documentation, proper execution, decorous correspondence with donors etc., subsequently, all the partners were oriented on e-Sponsorship tool and it’s practical use, while analysing the challenges and updations needed in the portal. The portal has been developed for the purpose of recording, sharing, and managing information of newly sponsored children in a systematic way.

Ms Komal Wagmare, National Sponsorship Coordinator cum Project Officer of KNH, facilitated the sessions on all four days. Her skilled facilitation and expertise on the theme has engaged the participants to get deep rooted in their understanding. She meticulously simplified all the doubts and cleared diverse challenges and facilitated an environment where all participants were able to discuss and express themselves, and learn the digital tool well.

As a part of the training, on the third day i.e. 18th May, an exposure visit was also arranged for the trainees to experiment and practically analyse the pros and cons of the ‘Digital Tool-e Portal’. Therefore, Restless Development, one of the partners of KNH has arranged a session with more than 25 children at Nigamananda Govt. High school in Gop, puri in Odisha. Mr. Durga Sankar Patra, Programme Coordinator, and his team from Restless Development has coordinated the whole activity held in the school.

The training was held from 16th to 19th May 2023 for 04 consecutive days at Vijoya International Hotel at Puri, Orissa. All together 17 participants (13 Male & 5 Female) from 08 partner organizations of KNH participated in the Training. The very presence of Ms Aparijita Dhar, Country Coordinator of KNH has been very inspiring throughout the training.

Partner organizations, who took part in the training included – ASHA, SIDI, CSA, Patang, SOVA, KJKS and Vigyan Foundation. Mr Sonu Gaur, Project Officer and Mr. Midhun Kurian, Sponsorship Officer participated in the training from Prayatn organization. Presently KNH, Germany is financially supporting Prayatn Sanstha to implement a Project on Child Rights and Child Protection in 50 villages of Cholapur Block in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
