While, COVID Pandemic has traumatized the life situation of people very badly; the restrictions to travel from country to country, state to state, and village to village has been remained as the most prevailing issue for the developmental sector. Analyzing the situation Mr. Malay Kumar, CEO of Prayatn Sanstha came up with an innovative idea of virtually visiting the Field Offices and villages for supporting staff and monitoring the whole project. While internal visits to various projects were going on, KKS (Karl Kübel Stiftung) Germany, who financially supports the project ‘Moving Ahead’ at Dholpur has been introduced with this innovation during the crisis, consequently, scheduled a virtual visit of Project at Dholpur, subsequently, appreciated Prayatn for the initiative.
Later on KKID (Karl Kübel Institute for Development Education), Coimbatore has adopted the same in a training module for equipping the partners of KKS in world wide. Thus far, more than 20 trainings have been organized for partners around the globe. More than 300 individuals have been benefitted through these trainings.
On 21st June and 07th July 2022, two- day training on ‘Virtual Field Visit’ for the Helpage International partners from Jordan, Pakistan, Moldova, Ethiopia, Philippines etc. through Zoom plat form has been organized. Dr. Tom Jose, Manager Training of KKID has facilitated the sessions and Mr. Malay Kumar, CEO of Prayatn acted as the resource person. Participants could understand the importance, advantages, limitations; preparatory processes of Virtual Field Visit and Monitoring during the sessions. As a part of it, a virtual visit demonstration was organized to Prayatn’s project field at Dholpur, for the trainees to experiment and analyze the challenges and opportunities while interacting with SHG (Self Help Group), CPC (Child Protection Committee) and Bal Manch (Children’s Collective) members. On the final day of the workshop team members have prepared mock videos from their respective fields. Subsequent to the critical feedback from the trainees, resource person has addressed the challenges and appropriate solutions to the highlighted issues.
At the conclusion of the session Ms. Helena Centmayer from Helpage thanked Mr. Malay Kumar and KKID for organizing such a significant training on Virtual Field Visit and Monitoring. Near about 25 members have participated in the workshops from various countries.
