Kindernothilfe (KNH), Germany, organised a four-day training for 16 sponsorship team members of eight of its partners to introduce the new digital tool for sponsorship projects called “e Sponsorship Portal”. The portal has been developed for the purpose of recording, sharing, and updating information of newly sponsored children in a systematic way. Module 2 was also introduced to new partners during the training.

The trainees were blessed with the skilled facilitation of Ms. Komal Waghmare, National Coordinator-Sponsorship and Project Officer of KNH, on all four days. She meticulously facilitated an environment where all participants were able to learn nitty-gritties as well as discuss and express themselves, enabling problems to be solved, decisions to be made during and proper usage of the digital tool to organize the system well.

As a part of the training, on the third day, an exposure visit was also arranged for the trainees to experiment and practically analyze the pros and cons of the ‘Digital Tool-e Portal’. Tala, a village in Cholapur block of Varanasi where ‘Sambal’ project is being implemented by Prayatn with the financial support of KNH, was selected for the purpose. Members of the project team under the leadership of Project Officer – Mr. Sonu Gaur facilitatd the visit in which conduction of activities with the children keeping context of sponsorship in mind were executed.

The training was held from May 24th to 27th, 2022, at Hotel Westinn in Varanasi and Prayatn, being the local partner, hosted the event along with KNH. Other partner organizationa, who took part in the training included – Manjari, KJKS, Restless Foundation, Patang, Arambh, CINI and Vigyan Foundation. Participants from Prayatn in this process included Ms. Pooja Jaiswal, Sponsorship Coordinator and Mr. Midhun Kurian, Documentation Officer.
