Village camps are organized in all the 50 villages of Cholapur Block in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh from 1stMarch to 21st March 2022, by Prayatn Sanstha with the support of Kindernothilfe, Germany, under project Sambal. Village camps are a powerful medium to closely identify issues related to the protection of children and the development of communities, by building a strong relationship with the community, identifying issues/ information through individual & household contacts, and community meetings for developing community-based systems and micro-planning as a means of empowerment for villages.

The project teams spend 3 consecutive days in each village organizing various activities like awareness rallies, recreational & entertaining activities, wall writing, night meetings, cultural events, group meetings, Film shows, documentary workshops etc. for the community, especially focusing on children and women. 6816 people, including students, teachers, SMC members, AWC workers, PRI members and community leaders have directly and indirectly benefitted through the camp. Under the leadership of Project Officer Mr Sonu Gaur, 24 member team including, Assistant Project Officers, Community Organizers, and Onsite Support Teachers have been involved in this process.
