Prayatn Sanstha has organized a three-day residential training for the members of the Child Protection Committee in the Cholapur block in the Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. The main aim of the training was to develop vision of Child Protection Committee on creating a village that is friendly to children by ensuring their rights and protection and pursue the same. The training was conducted as part of the “Sambal” project, which Prayatn has been carrying out to ensure child protection in the region with financial assistance from Kindernothilfe, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trainings were facilitated by Mr. Jagat Narayan, Director of Manav Seva Kendra, and Mr. Surendra Kumar Varma, Project Officer of Manav Seva Kendra. The attendees benefited much from the training’s discussions on different approaches to developing the community and its proper management to the sustainability. Resource people clarified all of the attendees’ questions and emphasized the need for the committees, processes, and procedures established inside the communities to remain viable. The whole training program was interactive, with lively group assignments and engaging presentations that kept the attendees engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training session was conducted at Uttar Pradesh’s Akatha, Varanasi, in the Janki Vatika conference hall. Approximately 266 female and 63 male members of the CPC, who are currently in active membership, took part in the training. The training was undertaken from July to October 2023 in ten batches, with five to six delegates from each of the targeted villages who were active members of the Child Protection Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole set of trainings was coordinated by Mr. Sandeep Sonkar and Mr. Sunder Singh, Assistant Project Officers of Prayatn, under the direction of Mr. Sonu Gaur, Project Officer of Prayatn.
