Child labour and child marriages are toxic blends that ruin young lives in our communities. Moreover, COVID-19 has very badly impacted the lives of common people. Consequently, there was an increase in the number of child labour and child marriage cases during the pandemic. This drive comes in the wake of the increase of such cases in the villages of Varanasi, where Prayatn Sanstha is implementing project \u2018Sambal\u2019 in 50 villages of Varanasi, with the financial support of KNH (Kindernnothilfe) Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Ashok Kumar, Block Development Officer of Cholapur block has flagged off the awareness caravan from his office and highlighted the theme to give impetus to the awareness campaign. On the occasion, Ms Sneha Upadyay, CWC Chairperson has motivated the public to take an active part in the campaign while appreciating the initiation of Prayatn for the public service. Mr T. N.Shukla, Juvenile Justice Board member and Mr Ravi Prakash Singh, ADO of Cholapur were also present at the occasion. They highlighted the need for public awareness of the forced labour and evils of child marriage besides throwing light on the ways to prevent such negative developments in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, awareness rallies, drawing competitions, and wall-writing activities were also organized with the support of the CPC (Child Protection Committee) and BM (Bal Manch) in the villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awareness caravan passed through the villages proclaiming the messages on the rights of children. On the occasion, Anganwadi workers, school teachers and PRI members welcomed the caravan in their villages and heartily participated in the activities with great enthusiasm.
The campaign was launched on 11 October 2022 covering 5 villages of Dharsona cluster and went on for ten days, covering all the 50 project villages of Cholapur Block of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Mr Sonu Gaur, Project Officer of Prayatn Sanstha is directing the campaign along with an efficient team of Community Organizers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
